Inmates at the Shimo la Tewa prison started the year 2010 in high gear as the institution hosted prison’s commissioner Isaiah Osugo to their New Year bonanza and talent show.

Osugo was accompanied by Coast provincial prisons commander James Kodiang’ and officer in charge Wanini Kireri.

Among those who performed included gospel artist Bantu who opened the stage for fellow Mombasa artists Kimsa, Kin Kiz, Rozina Mwakideu and Nestylee.

A group of inmates led by Daniel Mwanzia cracked the ribs of visitors with their comic expertise in their Zindukeni TV series in which the inmates imitate the voices of popular T.V. reporters.

Wycliffe Ochieng also did a wonderful gospel track “Who I’m I” with fellow inmate Patrick Lidunde playing the piano.

Another duo from the prison David Gichapa a.k.a. K-Yoh and Maxwell Ogalo a.k.a. Mkufunzi thrilled their peers with their hip hop track Halisi ya Sisi.

ENDS.
