Naeem Abbas floors them all

Kisauni MP Hassan Joho has asked education stakeholders in the area to face up the challenges contributing to the decline of performance in national exams in the district.

He said leaders have in many occasions failed to research and come up with solutions to help improve standards but have instead sat back and put all the blame on teachers.

Joho was speaking during a prize giving ceremony for last year’s best performing KCPE candidates in the constituency organized jointly by the area CDF committee and the Hassan Joho Foundation. 

All top students in both public and private schools in the district were feted during the ceremony also attended by various leaders among them Malindi MP Gideon Mung’aro, his Voi counterpart Dan Mwaazo, Mombasa Mayor Ahmed Mohdhar and Kisauni DC Tom Anjere.

Abdulkarim Ahmed of Shimo la Tewa primary school was the top student in the public schools category with 414 marks while Naeem Abbas Rajim of Aga Khan was led in the private schools category with 431 marks.

Diana Achieno of star of the sea and Mageto Morara of Nyali primary school were named best female pupils in the public and private school’s categories respectively.
Each of the students were given a trophy a laptop computer and a cash token of Sh 50,000.

Abbas who was the top pupil in the province was also awarded a bursary of Sh 720,000 by Equity bank.

The MPs advised local youths to embrace education in order to be competitive in the job market.
